Karen Elizabeth Austin portrayed Shannon Adama's mother, Ruth. She was affectionately known as "Tsattie" (Grandma) to her grandson, William.
Karen Elizabeth Austin was born as Karen Austin Elizabeth. She was an actress, known for The Eye (2008), Passengers (2008) and When a Stranger Calls Back (1993). She played Lily on the Battlestar Galactica episode, Escape Velocity (2008).
Austin died on April 2, 2011.
