Roger R. Cross portrayed Tomas Vergis in the "Pilot", but his scenes and plotline were deleted before the episode aired. His character was having an affair with Amanda Graystone. Ronald D. Moore wanted the character of Amanda to be more sympathetic, so they deleted the affair storyline.[1]
The role was recast and debuted in "Know Thy Enemy" with John Pyper-Ferguson in the part.
Cross is a Jamaican actor, known for The Chronicles of Riddick (2004), The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008) and Continuum (2012).[2]
